On Wednesday, 8/26/15, a customer of Wal-mart reported that his bicycle was stolen while shopping inside the store.   The victim had left a black and purple, GIANT mountain bike unlocked outside the store.    The victim did have a bicycle lock and had only left it unattended for 20 minutes.

At 7:06 pm, Wednesday, 8/26/15, ELTPD responded to a report of terroristic threats that just occurred at the Famous Footwear Outlet in the Rockvale Square complex.    It was reported that an unknown Hispanic male, accompanied by two unknown Black or Hispanic females, came into the store and attempted to return two backpacks without a receipt.   The subjects were recognized by store employees as suspects of prior shoplifting incidents at the store.

Case Status:

On August 8, 2015 at approximately 2304 hours, Mitchell Chad Riedle, 44 years of age, South Reamstown Road, Reamstown, was stopped for erratic driving in the 1400 block of North Reading Road, East Cocalico Township.  Riedle displayed signs of impairment and could not perform roadside sobriety tests as instructed.  Riedle was taken for a blood test.  Subsequent testing revealed Riedle had a blood alcohol concentration of .196%.  Riedle will be sent a summons for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic from MDJ Hamill's Office.


On August 1, 2015 at approximately 0243 hours, Ivan Litovka, 22 years of age, East Fulton Street, Ephrata, was observed traveling at a high rate of speed in the 900 block of Ridge Avenue, East Cocalico Township.  Litovka's vehicle crossed the double yellow lines and proceeded through a stop sign.  Litovka's vehicle was stopped and Litovka displayed signs of intoxication.  Litovka failed Standard Field Sobriety tests and was transported to Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital for a blood draw.  Subsequent testing revealed that Litovka had a blood alcohol content of .146%.
