At this evening's West Shore Regional Police Commission meeting Police Chief Michael Hope presented Detective John Friel and Patrol Officer Christopher Conroy with Distinguished Service Awards and Valor pins for their exemplary service and bravery in the rescue of a Lemoyne Borough resident
On 05-04-16 the Steelton Police conducted a traffic stop on silver BMW with a suspended registration plate. Officers identified the driver as Yanic Corbin who is driving under suspension and he was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of the Capital Police. After he was taken into custody he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine. He was taken to the Dauphin County Judicial Center for arraignment.
On Monday 05-02-16 the Steelton Police responded to the first block of Roller Drive for an assault call. Officers arrived and found a female victim severely injured. Officers at that time had EMS transport her to the hospital. Detectives did speak with the victim who stated that she was at a bar in the 100 block of South Front Street when she left with two other females. She stated one of the passengers struck her multiple times, struck her with a bottle and kicked her. She was then driven home and left on her front lawn.
On 4/10/16 at 2348 hours, Harrisburg Police responded to a call for a female shot inside a vehicle in the area of the 1400 block of Swatara Street. Officers arrived and found a female, B/F/33, lying outside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken immediately to Hershey Hospital and was listed in critical condition and ultimately paralyzed from the waist down.
Strasburg Ministerium was granted a special event permit to hold a brief gathering of local officials in observance of National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 12:00-12:30 p.m., around the flagpole on the front lawn of Strasburg Borough Office, 145 Precision Avenue, Strasburg.
