UPDATE: Bevans was found and arrested on 11/26/2020.
The Pennsylvania State Police Troop N– Hazleton Station - On Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at approximately 2300 hours, Troopers from PSP – Hazleton were dispatched to the area of 1119 Jeansville Road, Hazle Township, Luzerne County, in reference to a domestic incident.
The victim reported that she and Walter Roy BEVANS, W/N-M, 45 YOA engaged in a dispute.
The dispute escalated and BEVANS pointed a firearm at her head. The victim reported that BEVANS related he was not going back to jail and would kill her, police and himself if 911 was called.
BEVANS fled the scene in an unknown direction, by unknown means, with a firearm prior to Troopers’ arrival.
Criminal charges of Aggravated Assault, Persons Not to Possess, Use, Manufacture, Control or Sell Firearms, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Harassment by Communication were filed against BEVANS.
There is an active felony warrant out of Luzerne County stemming from this incident.
