UPDATE - 8/3/2020 - EDWARDS is in police custody!!
Pennsylvania State Police Troop P – Tunkhannock – On 07/25/20 at approximately 0030 hours a Trooper was operating a marked patrol unit and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a blue Mitsubishi Endeavor for a dead tag, a moving violation and suspected driving under the influence on Tunnel Hill Road in Clinton Township, Wyoming County.
Dustin Michael EDWARDS, who was later identified as the driver, failed to yield and a trailing pursuit was initiated.
The fleeing vehicle committed numerous traffic violations as it traveled west. Upon turning left onto Clark Road, the Trooper was in a safe position and traveling at an appropriate speed to attempt a PIT maneuver and executed it.
After the PIT maneuver, the EDWARDS accelerated into the woods and down an embankment.
The fleeing vehicle came to rest in a swampy area.
EDWARDS fled the area, leaving his cellular phone and multiple court documents inside the vehicle.
The Trooper was not injured.
