The Pennsylvania State Police Troop G – Bedford Station responded to a shooting on 08/24/20 that sent one person to the hospital in Bedford County.

The shooting happened at a home at the 800 block of Lincoln Highway in Juniata Township just before midnight.

The property owner had reportedly asked the group to leave numerous times and they refused to leave the private property. A fight broke out at the home after an argument and shots were fired, state police said.

A group of about 55 protesters marching across the country from Milwaukee to Washington D.C. in response against racial injustice and police brutality. The shooting victim was a part of their group.

Frank Nitty, who is the group’s leader, said he took the shooting victim who was shot in the face to Conemaugh Memorial Hospital in Johnstown.

Nitty said that he was doing a live video on social media when the shooting happened. A video later posted by Nitty on Facebook shows a group of people standing along the side of the road when noises that sound like gunshots are heard. The video shows people getting into cars and quickly leaving the scene.

One person was taken to the hospital, state police said. Their condition hasn’t been released.
