Pennsylvania State Police Troop T – Somerset is investigating a Hit and Run Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash that occurred on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I76) at mile post 109.8 Eastbound, which is just prior to the Somerset Exit 110, in Somerset Township, Somerset County on Monday January 04, 2021 at approximately 1804 hours.

Two (2) pedestrians, 1 male and 1 female were attempting to cross both Eastbound travel lanes at this location and return to their disabled vehicle that was located on the left shoulder near the center concrete barrier.

While attempting to cross the travel lanes on foot the 30-40 year old female was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene and continued Eastbound on the PA Turnpike.

The female died from her injuries. No description is available of the striking vehicle.

The striking vehicle likely sustained front end, front corner and/or mirror damage.
