Pennsylvania State Police Troop R – Honesdale Barracks responded to Old Sandhouse Antiques, 657 Texas-Palmyra Highway, Wayne County on Monday, 05/24/2011 at 2239 hours for the report of a theft involving serial scammers.
Upon arrival, the Victim (store owner) related that a male and female using the names Michael HIGGINS and Meaghan HIGGINS (supposedly of Lake George, NY) began visiting his antiques store sometime in April and established a relationship.
On 05/15/2021, the owner agreed to give the Higgins’ $2,000.00 with the agreement that they would procure some antiques from a store in Maine. The Higgins’ then broke off contact with the owner and have not been seen or heard from since.
Further investigation and contact with the NY State Police revealed their true identities as follows:
Michael R. ROBITAILLE (image attached from 2019), DOB: 01/21/83 (38 yrs old), 6 ft tall, 220 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes.
Terri L. CASH, DOB: 04/04/79 (42 yrs old), 5’02” tall, 125 lbs, brown hair, blue eyes.
They are known to drive a blue 2014 Honda CRV bearing NY registration GRJ3725. Robitaille has a lengthy criminal history consistent with this activity (Theft by Deception, Fraud, Forgery…) in several states along the Northeast Seaboard (RI, CT, ME, NH). He also makes false claims to his victims that he is a former law enforcement officer.
PSP Honesdale is seeking assistance from anyone who may have been victimized by Robitaille and Cash and/or may know of their whereabouts.
