Pennsylvania State Police Troop R – Honesdale Barracks responded to a house on River Road, Damascus Township, Wayne County, on 08/28/1997 at 0142 hours for a report of a fire 

After the fire was extinguished, the Victim Patricia WOLL’s body was found on the floor in the middle of the living room area. 

Blood located under the Victim and injuries to the body discovered at autopsy led investigators to determine that the Victim was murdered and that the fire was set intentionally to cover up the act.

In addition, an upstairs neighbor reported hearing a scream from the Victim’s residence just before the fire.

Several new investigatory leads and evidence have been uncovered and are activity being pursued by Investigators.  The Pennsylvania State Police, Honesdale Criminal Investigation Unit is asking the public for assistance.
