Media Release #2424, Armed Robbery, Unknown Suspects – Covington Township, Lackawanna County, PA



The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop R, Dunmore, continue their investigation of an Armed Robbery that occurred on Winship Road, near Sanko Drive, Covington Township, Lackawanna County. 

On Monday, February 4, 2019, at approximately 2:50 a.m., the victim was starting up his motor vehicle when unknown suspects pulled up to the victim.  One suspect had approached the victim when he got out and did a walk around inspection, brandished a pistol, and demanded the victim’s wallet.  The second suspect remained near the rear of their pickup truck during the incident.  Both suspects were in dark clothing.  The suspect with the pistol was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and pants while the second suspect had a dark jacket and hoodie.  $550 in cash was taken and a credit card.  The suspects fled in an older style smaller pickup believed to be a dark Ford Ranger or Toyota Tacoma, possibly single cab with unknown registration, towards SR 307. 

The suspect with the pistol was described as 5’8” – 5’11”, thin build, and reddish blonde hair with shadow (stubble) or close beard with no mustache.  He also had deteriorating teeth and had a tattoo on his right hand with a skull and teeth (teeth by knuckles; tattoo was described as dark (black/white only – no colors) skull head was up towards wrist.
