Media Release #2367, Criminal Homicide, Unknown Victim, Unknown Suspect(s) – Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County, PA



The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop D, Butler, Criminal Investigative Assessment Unit, continue their investigation of a cold case homicide.  

On November 6, 1980, the victim’s body was found burned near Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County.  The autopsy ruled the victim’s death a homicide.  Due to burns, a composite was made of the victim’s face.  The victim is believed to be a white male, dark eyes, dark hair, 5’8”, 115 lbs., and described by autopsy doctor as poorly nourished.  The victim has not yet been identified.  The victim was found wearing a blue t-shirt with the letters “we, wi, sr, or wp” on the right front of shirt and brown pants.
