The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop E, Meadville, continue their investigation of multiple burglaries.
On August 27, 2018, at approximately 3:00 p.m., PSP Meadville responded to the scene of a burglary that occurred between 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The incident occurred at a residence on Blooming Valley Road, Meadville, Crawford County. Unknown suspects gained entry to the residence by impersonating men working for an unknown electrical/pluming company. Once inside, the suspects distracted both victims, while they removed a large safe from a bedroom. The brand of the safe is “Keep Safe” which is brown in color and has a combination dial. Multiple valuables were inside the safe. The suspects were seen loading the safe into a tan in color SUV heading northeast on Route 77. The suspects were described as a white male and possibly a Hispanic male. The Hispanic male age range was described to be between 50-60 years old, with black and gray hair, with a full beard that was groomed neatly. The white male was described as tall and lanky with a button-down shirt possibly in his late 30’s.
On August 27, 2018, in the late afternoon, a residence located on Arbuckle Road in Millcreek Township was burglarized. An unknown suspect arrived at the victim’s residence and claimed to be in the neighborhood installing towers. The suspect requested the victim accompany him outside to the rear border of the property to identify property lines. While outside of the residence, the suspect was on the phone. Another suspect removed pins and hinges form three safes and removed numerous items possessing a high value. The only viewed suspect was described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, thin build, brown hair, and no facial hair.
There was another burglary that occurred in the Butler area prior to the two reported incidents. All three burglaries involved suspects utilizing some type of rues to distract the home owners, while another suspect entered the residence and took possession of items in the safe or stole the safe.
