Media Release #2063, Burglary & Criminal Mischief, Unknown Suspect(s) – Dauphin, Schuylkill, and Northumberland County, PA



The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop H, Lykens, and Troop L, Schuylkill Haven, continue their investigations of several burglaries and criminal mischief incidents that occurred throughout three counties. 

Between May 6 and May 8, 2017, the late evening hours, forced entry was made into a storage shed belonging to the Simeon United Lutheran Church Cemetery located at 173 N Center St, Gratz Borough, Dauphin County.  The unknown suspect(s) proceeded to vandalize and destroy the property within the shed causing several thousands of dollars’ worth of damage.  The unknown suspect(s) removed gas cans and destroyed multiple lawn mowers.  Graffiti was painted inside the shed of male genitals.

On May 7, 2017, at approximately 3:30 a.m., forced entry was made into the Crossroads Sale and Market located at the intersection of SR 25 and N Crossroads Road, Gratz Borough, Dauphin County.  The unknown suspect(s) removed the meter from the meter base and cut the phone line before making entry.  The unknown suspect(s) proceeded to cause thousands of dollars of damage to the building and its contents.

Pennsylvania State Police, Troop L Schuylkill Haven, is actively investigating the following incidents that have occurred between the dates of March 31, 2017 and May 5, 2017.

Date:  March 27, 2017  
Location: Ludwig Farm and Lawn located in Barry Township, Schuylkill County.  The unknown suspect(s) removed the cover face of the PPL meter and entered the building and stole three chainsaws.  Estimated value of items stolen $1900.00

Date: March 31 – April 1, 2017
Location: Kramer’s Power Equipment located in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County.  Unknown suspect(s) removed the electrical meter and cut all the electrical wires to disable the alarm.  Actors did not enter the building.  Did damage windows and electrical meter.  Damaged estimated at $1500.00

Date: April 20 – 21, 2017  
Location: United Church of Christ Barry Township, Schuylkill County.  Unknown Suspect(s) entered a garage and caused damage to a lawn mower and removed gas cans.  Unknown suspect(s) damaged an electrical meter.  Damage estimated at $210.00

Date: April 22, 2017    
Location: St Paul United Church of Christ Hubley Township, Schuylkill County.  Unknown suspect(s) cut chain to shed and stole gas cans.

Date: April 26, 2017  
Location: Tower City Legion Fairgrounds, Porter Township, Schuylkill County.  Unknown suspects(s) cut locks, poured blue paint on floor, and sprayed painted the letters “MDK”.  The unknown suspect(s) also drew pictures of male genitals.

Date: April 28, 2017  
Location: Highway Paving, Frailey Township, Schuylkill County. Unknown suspect(s) spray painted male genitals inside a trailer.

Date: April 29, 2017  
Location: Residence on Clarks Valley Rd Porter Township, Schuylkill County.  Unknown suspect(s) smashed a door window and stole $1000.00 in U.S. Currency.

Date: April 30, 2017
Location: North Schuylkill Soccer Association, Barry Township, Schuylkill County.  Unknown suspect(s) destroyed deep freezers, painted on lawn equipment, stole gas cans, painted “MDK” and drew pictures of male genitals.

Date: Between May 2 – 5, 2017   
Location: St John’s Kimmel’s Church, Barry Township, Schuylkill County.  Unknown suspect(s) damaged lawn equipment and stole a string trimmer.  Estimated value stolen was $125.00 and estimated damage to lawn equipment was $7000.00.
