Media Release #2050, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Unknown Suspect(s) – Jefferson Township, Somerset County, PA



The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop A, Somerset, continue their investigation of a theft by unlawful taking that occurred on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Mile Post 101.7 Eastbound, Jefferson Township, Somerset County, PA.

On October 24, 2015, at 3:00 a.m., a tractor trailer crashed through a guardrail and traveled down a 70-foot embankment.  The tractor and semi-trailer were towed from the scene on this date.  The cargo was brought up the embankment and collected over the following days.  An inventory was completed and it was discovered that three engines and modification kits for M4K rough terrain forklifts were missing.  The estimated value is over $75,000.
