Media Release #2049, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Burglary, and Theft by Unlawful Taking, Unknown Suspect – Greenville Township, Somerset County, PA



The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop A, Somerset, continue their investigation of an aggravated assault, simple assault, burglary, and theft by unlawful taking that occurred at a residence located in Greenville Township, Somerset County, PA.

On January 28, 2016, at approximately 11:08 – 11:34 p.m., the victim was assaulted in the basement of her residence by an unknown suspect after returning home from work.  The unknown suspect struck the victim numerous times causing a skull fracture and numerous facial fractures.  The unknown suspect then choked the victim until she became unconscious.  A Ruger 6T .38 caliber handgun was stolen from the residence. 

The unknown suspect was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket/hoodie possibly with a white stripe and blue jeans.
