Media Release #2048, Unsolved Homicides, Victims - Damian Michael Staniszewski and James Edward Smith, Unknown Suspect(s) – Portage Borough, Cambria County, PA



Update - The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop A, Somerset, and Troop A, Ebensburg, are now investigating the unsolved homicides of Damian Michael Staniszewski and James Edward Smith.  Their bodies were discovered along Ligonier Pike, Conemaugh Township, Somerset County.

The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop A, Major Case Team, is attempting to locate Damian Michael Staniszewski and James Edward Smith.  Damian and James are acquaintances and were reported missing by their respective families.  Damian and James were last seen together at James Edward Smith’s residence on March 26, 2017, at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Previous information -
A vehicle known to be operated by Damian Staniszewski was located on March 28, 2017, at approximately 3:00 a.m., along SR 985/Somerset Pike, Conemaugh Township, Somerset County by Conemaugh Township Police Department.  Both individuals are missing under suspicious circumstances.

Hair: Brown (curly/shoulder length)    Eyes: Brown
Last seen wearing: hooded sweatshirt, cap, and black sneakers
Resides in Duncansville, Blair County, PA

James Edward Smith    White/Male   32 YOA
Height: 6’0”  Weight: 160 lbs.
Hair: Brown   Eyes: Hazel
Resides in Portage, Cambria County, PA
