Media Release #2033, Theft from Motor Vehicle, Criminal Mischief, and Forgery, Unknown Suspect(s) – Connoquenessing Township, Butler County, PA



The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop D, Butler, continues their investigation of theft from motor vehicles, criminal mischief, and forgery that occurred on January 11, 2017.   

Several neighboring municipalities (Cranberry Township Police Department and Northern Regional Police Department) had multiple similar incidents occur on January 10, 2017.  Unknown suspect(s) were targeting victims’ vehicles while dropping children off at daycares.  Vehicles were either unlocked or windows were broken out of the vehicles that were locked.  Items were then removed from the vehicle and the unknown suspect(s) fled the scene.  Several purses and large bags were taken containing IDs, checkbook, credit cards, cellphones, laptops, wallets, etc.  PNC Bank was able to capture several still photos where the victims’ checks were cashed using the drive through window.  In one photo a white female with blonde hair is seen in the driver’s seat.   Victims’ checks were cashed at PNC Banks located in Wintersville, Ohio; Latrobe, PA; and Robinson Towne Centre, PA.
