PSP Harrisburg and the Troop H Major Case Team have been actively investigating the homicide of Tyrone M. SHAW, a 46 year old male from Roselle Park, NJ, who was found deceased of a gunshot wound on 02/04/19 at 2313 hours. The incident occurred on Interstate 81 north at mile post 75.4, West Hanover Township, Dauphin County. The scene is approximately one mile south of Exit 77.
The investigation to date has determined that the victim visited the Harrisburg area between approximately 1700-1900 hours on 02/04/19. He was killed after his vehicle became disabled on the shoulder of the highway at the above mentioned location. Through interviews and other investigative means, Troopers have developed a timeline of events for the victim as well as persons of interest in both the Harrisburg, PA and Newark, NJ areas.
It was initially reported that the victim’s death may have been in response to a road rage incident. As the investigation progressed, we have found that this was not the case.
We have received numerous tips from the public that have been of great assistance in furthering this investigation. As we continue to investigate, we are still asking for the public’s assistance. Specifically we are asking anyone who witnessed the victim’s black GMC Yukon SUV displaying NJ registration between 1910-1930 hours on 02/04/19 to contact PSP Harrisburg with any observations they may recall. The vehicle became disabled on the right shoulder of the I-81 north at mile post 75.4 with a flat driver side rear tire at approximately 1910 hours. Additionally, anyone who may have seen the victim or his vehicle in or around the Harrisburg area on 02/04/19 is asked to contact PSP or Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers.
