Pennsylvania State Police, Troop J – Lancaster Barracks responded on 06/20/2020, when an employee from the Lancaster County Communications Center received a discharge alarm from a satellite on an emergency communication radio tower located at 1699 Slate Hill Road, Fulton Township, Lancaster County, PA.
A maintenance technician responded to the said location and observed multiple bullet holes in the satellite.
It was determined the satellite was struck approximately 200 times and audio surveillance captured the sound of gunfire just prior to the alarm activation.
Video surveillance showed no actor(s) within camera view; however, multiple brass casings and shotgun shells were discovered approximately 100 yards west of the tower.
The value of the damage to the satellite approximately $5,000.
