The Pennsylvania State Police - Troop E - Meadville Station, continue their investigation into the disappearance of 29-year-old Lonene Ray Rogers.
Rogers was last seen on January 7, 1981 at approximately 12:45 AM in her home at the Littles Corners area located on State Hwy. 198 at the intersection of State Hwy. 98, Meadville, Hayfield Township, Crawford County.
That night there was a severe snowstorm in the area. Police report that on the night of her disappearance, she had an argument with her husband at their residence.
Mr. Rogers told police he awoke during the night. When he didn't see his wife, he assumed that she was sleeping on the couch. When he got up in the morning her boots, jeans, and coat were gone. Her purse, hearing aids, and car keys were left behind.
In addition, her two children who were ages one and six years also remained at home. Mr. Rogers was not initially worried and did not contact police right away.
None of her close friends or relatives have had any contact with Rogers since the day of her disappearance. Also, there has been no activity for her Social Security number.
When Rogers went missing, she was 5’5”, 140 lbs., gray eyes, and had long sandy brown hair. She cannot speak fluently and is nearly completely deaf. Other distinguishing features is that she has freckles, pierced ears and is missing her tonsils.
At the time of her disappearance, she may have been wearing a navy blue peacoat, blue jeans and high brown boots.
