PA State Police Troop M – Criminal Investigation Assessment Unit continue their investigation on a case where the body of 34-year-old Richard Wesley Wheeler was found deceased on a wooded property off Center Hill Road (approximately 1 mile south of the intersection with Kintner Hill Road) in Nockamixon Township, Bucks County on September 18, 1980.  He had been shot to death.

The body was located by a construction worker who was doing some finishing work on a cottage that was being built/renovated on the wooded property. 

Wheeler, who also went by the name Richard Cooper, was living in a camper on this property with the permission of the property owner who resided nearby.

Wheeler also maintained a property in Piscataway, New Jersey and was self-employed as a long-haul, commercial truck driver (owner/operator).
